Dale Inman, Richard Petty’s first cousin, was his crew chief during all seven of the King’s championships. In fact, Inman did Petty one better, winning an eighth championship as crew chief with Terry Labonte in 1984. Recently Inman, now 73, received the Buddy Shuman Award for "significant contributions to NASCAR."
